Don’t internalize people’s negative opinions about your ability to speak up about rape culture. They are just afraid, ignorant, and uninformed. The people who want to say “shhhh” every time the word “RAPE” is muttered…are perpetuating the never ending cycle of Rape Culture. Even worse, they don’t know how LONG it has taken YOU to speak up.
